geeky... lonely

*sniffles* well, the sisters have returned to Montreal, and i'm left all on my lonesome... to go stir crazy with my mother, step-dad, and step-bro. oi.

on a much happier note, i went to the ComiCon yesterday with dad! *cheers* lots of fun, met up with a few HP artists - it was cool, they had booths, and i recognised their work from deviant.art.
bought a bunch of stuff, some great books to draw from, a number of comics (Buffy #3 and 4. woot! and a potentially interesting new series, Runaways) and... wait for it... two plush toys. a BIG Uglydoll named Babo - he's adorable and i love his little buckteeth - and a CTHULHU!!! he's green and has tentacles and wings and is so cute and i love him! i could have gotten one that screams when you squeeze it, but i decided that's a little too over the top, and just got the quiet one. such a productive day!! beautiful original HP art now resides on my wall, i have a Slytherin t-shirt *cackles with fan!glee* and a bunch of stuff to read!

and then last night we went out to Four Doors North for K's b-day before she left with nonee this morning - yummy crabcakes for antipasti, bbq ribs for main, and cake with candles for afters. i think K liked her presents too... woot!
oh, did i mention before? yours truly was supposed to go to Montreal WITH them, but the car was so stuffed with their things there was barely room for them, let alone me. :(
hope everyone else had a wonderful start to the weekend. i've discovered a number of new, wonderful HP fic, which i hope to use to distract from the emptiness of the house - and it's not only me that's noticed. the cats have been very clingy this morning, definitely pining for their other mummys.
